Private Accident Insurance
The Underestimated Risk
A serious accident happens in Germany every 4 seconds and most of the victims are not covered by public accident insurance.
Private insurance is economical and essential in case of a horrible scenario:
being unable to work again, loss of income, being physically restricted or ending up in a wheelchair. No one really wants to think about this, but it's part of the real world.
The problem:
Employees are only publicly insured through their employer at the work place, on business trips and directly on the way to and from work.
Free time activities are not covered - however, the majority of accidents occur outside of work.
Many self employed and freelancers are not insured at all through public accident insurance.
Pensioners and housewives / househusbands are equally not insured.
Children, school children and students are only publicly insured at a school or other learning institute or directly on the way to and from there. Accidents outside of school caused while playing, for example, are not covered.
Over 6 million people a year in Germany have some kind of accident. Some of them are so badly injured that they can never work again. Nearly 200,000 people a year end up physically unfit to carry on with their job.
What are the advantages of a private accident insurance?
24 hour cover worldwide
Flexible tariff combinations
The more serious the lasting injury is the higher the pay out
Life long monthly pension can be included
Tax free lump sums can be part of the insurance cover
Financial help to convert your house or flat in case of your disability
Actually, the streets in life are quite safe today - it's the people on them who aren't.
